Message From The Chief

The Riverton Volunteer Fire Department is committed to saving Lives and Property and providing the highest level of public safety and performance to the citizens in the Riverton Fire Protection District. Our members are 100% Volunteer professionals who are trained to the highest standards of the fire service.

Our Department started this long tradition of exceptional volunteer service to this community back in 1905, and over the last 112 years, the RVFD has expanded its mission to include Fire Prevention and Education, Water Rescue, Emergency Hazardous Material response, and even hosting the Mid-Winter Fire School. We currently protect over 23,000 citizens while covering an area of over 120 square miles. We protect the City of Riverton and a large rural area that encompasses nearly a ten-mile radius surrounding the city.

I hope you find this website interesting, and educational. If you need any assistance at all regarding Fire Prevention, Safety or want to become a volunteer, please do not hesitate to contact any of our members, our Fire Administration staff at Station #4, located at 404 South Broadway (Phone: 307-856-8248), or send us an email at secretary@rivertonfire.com.

Regards,

Jake Blumenshine

Fire Chief - RVFD
