Message from the Chief
At the Riverton Volunteer Fire Department (RVFD), our mission is to protect lives and property while delivering the highest level of public safety and performance to the citizens within the Riverton Fire Protection District. Our team consists of 100% volunteer professionals, trained to meet the highest standards in the fire service.
Since its establishment in 1905, the RVFD has upheld a long-standing tradition of exceptional volunteer service. Over the past century, our mission has expanded to include fire prevention and education, water rescue, emergency hazardous materials response, and hosting the annual Mid-Winter Fire School. Today, we proudly protect more than 23,000 citizens, covering an area of over 120 square miles, including the City of Riverton and a large rural district within a ten-mile radius.
We hope you find our website both informative and educational. Should you need any assistance regarding fire prevention, safety, or if you're interested in becoming a volunteer, please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of our members or our Fire Administration team at Station #4, located at 404 South Broadway. You can also contact us at 307-856-8248 or by email at secretary@rivertonfire.com.
